Present Perfect Tense (2)

A:

Geçmişteki bir zamandan şimdiki zamana kadar olan belli bir periyottan bahsederken present perfect tense kullanılır.

Şu örneği inceleyelim:

DAVE: Have you travelled a lot, Jane?
JANE: Yes, I've been to lots of places.
DAVE: Really? Have you ever been to China?
JANE: Yes, I've been to China twice.
DAVE: What about India?
JANE: No, I haven't been to India.

Bu konuşmada, Jane ve Dave, Jane’in yaşadığı sürece seyahat ettiği yerlerden bahsediyorlar. Bu, şimdiye kadar uzanan bir periyodu içeriyor.

• Have you ever eaten caviar? (in your life)
(hiç havyar yedin mi?(hayatın boyunca))


• We've never had a car
(Hiç arabamız olmadı). Şuanda da arabamız yok! Süreç devam ediyor.

• `Have you read Hamlet?' `No, I haven't read any of Shakespeare's plays.'

• Susan really loves that film. She's seen it eight times!
(Susan bu filmi gerçekten seviyor. Onu sekiz kere seyretti.)
Filmi sekiz defa seyretmiş, hala seyretmeye devam ediyor.

• What a boring film! It's the most boring film I've ever seen.
(Ne sıkıcı bir film.) (şimdiye kadar gördüğüm en sıkıcı film.)
Şuanda da izlediği o filmden daha sıkıcı bir film seyretmemiş.

Şimdi vereceğim örneklerde de olaylar “şimdiye” kadar uzanıyor:
(recently / in the last few days / so far / since breakfast etc.):

• Have you heard from George recently?
(Son zamanlarda George’u gördün mü?)

• I've met a lot of people in the last few days.
(Son birkaç gündür çok fazla insanla tanıştım.)

• Everything is going well. We haven't had any problems so far.
(Her şey yolunda. Şimdiye kadar hiçbir sorunla karşılaşmadık.)

• I'm hungry. I haven't eaten anything since breakfast. (= from breakfast until now)
(Acıktım. Kahvaltıdan beri hiçbirşey yemedim.)

• It's nice to see you again. We haven't seen each other for a long time.
(Seni tekrar görmek çok güzel. Uzun zamandır görüşemedik.)


B:

Eğer konuşma anında süreç henüz bitmemişse “today / this morning / this evening” i present perfect tense ile kullanırız.

• I've drunk four cups of coffee today. (perhaps I'll drink more before today is finished)
(Bugün 4 fincan kahve içtim. (belki gün bitmeden daha fazla içeceğim.))

• Have you had a holiday this year (yet)?
(Bu sene tatil yaptın mı?)(şimdiye kadar)

• I haven't seen Tom this morning. Have you?
(Bu sabah Tom’u görmedim. Siz gördünüz mü?)

• Ron hasn't worked very hard this term.
(Ron bu dönem çok fazla çalışmadı.)

C:

Eğer bir olay ilk kez gerçekleşiyorsa, present perfect tense’i kullanırız.

•Don is having a driving lesson. He is very nervous and unsure because it is his first lesson.
(Don sürüş dersleri alıyor. Çoke heyecanlı ve kendinden emin değil çünkü onun ilk dersi.)

• It's the first time he has driven a car. (not `drives') or He has never driven a car before.
(İlk araba kullanışı. Ya da, Daha önce hiç araba kullanmadı.)

• Linda has lost her passport again. It's the second time this has happened. (not `happens')
(Linda yine pasaportunu kaybetti. Bu ikinci defa oluyor.)

• This is a lovely meal. It's the first good meal I've had for ages. (not `I have')
(Bu çok güzel bir yemek. Uzun zamandır yediğim en güzel yemek.)

• Bill is phoning his girlfriend again. That's the third time he's phoned her this evening.
(Bill yeniden kız arkadaşına telefon ediyor. Bu akşam ona üçüncü telefon edişi.)
